Come witness 60 racers use one hand to carry a serving tray with a glass of wine as they walk, or run if they’re skilled enough, from Ruth’s Chris, to the Renaissance Raleigh Hotel, back through the Commons and around the Christmas Tree to the finish line between Jolly’s Jewelers and Firebirds.

Traditionally, all facets of the wine industry join in the race, from the grape pickers, to the truckers, winemakers, retailers, and the waiters to see who gets to serve the first wine of the harvest, based on the Parisian tradition. And it all has to be done before the holidays. In this case, only an hour before the Tree Lighting Celebration at North Hills.
