Walk for Lupus Now®-Making a difference starts with one step.

Walk for Lupus Now is the signature event of the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. In more than 50 cities across America, thousands of people walk to make a difference in the lives of those affected by lupus and raise essential funds for education, support services, and research. Join us in giving hope to people with lupus! It is estimated that 1.5 million Americans, and 45,000 residents in North Carolina have a form of lupus. Lupus is a chronic and potentially life-threatening autoimmune disease that can be devastating for people with lupus and their families. No cure or satisfactory treatment exists. November 2008 marked 50 years since a drug has been approved for the treatment of lupus. But, there is hope on the horizon, and with your help we can find better treatments, and a cure for lupus.
Getting Started

  1. Register for Walk for Lupus Now.
  2. Set a fundraising goal for yourself, or your team. We suggest a $100 minimum for each individual. Individuals raising $100 or more will receive a Walk for Lupus Now t-shirt.
  3. Start a team. Walking with a team is more fun, and makes it easier to raise money.
  4. Raise money. Set up a personal fundraising page online, and spread the word among your friends, family, and co-workers.
  5. Walk with friends, family, team members, and the rest of the Walk for Lupus Now participants. We walk rain or shine.
  6. Celebrate a job well done, thank all your supporters, and start planning for next year.
