It is with great pleasure that we introduce the new North Hills Farmers’ Market. This market, which

will be held in the heart of North Hills around the “Commons”, will create a wonderful opportunity for

local residents and customers of North Hills to support North Carolina farmers. The decision to build

the North Hills Farmers’ Market was based on numerous requests that have been received from

surrounding residents that visit the project regularly. We are intent on meeting that demand by

inviting farm owners that take pride in their locally produced goods to join us in building this market.

The market will take place on Saturdays from 8:00am-12:00pm and is planned to operate from April

through early October. During Market hours only vendors will be permitted to park in the Commons

so as to provide for ease of restocking as well as a pleasant pedestrian experience for market visitors.

Because we are focused on providing a unique experience to the North Hills Farmers’ Market

customers, we have decided that this will strictly be a “producer only” market. Purchasing and reselling

of items diminishes the unique quality tied to a Farmers’ Market, therefore resellers will not be

accepted into the Market at any time. A Market Manager and Advisory Council will be available to

help with selection and confirm that all Members are abiding by the rules and regulations. The plan is

to establish a North Hills Farmers’ Market Board of Directors.

We want each and every farmer to feel that Saturday mornings are well spent at the North Hills

Farmers Market. To show that we are working hard to set ourselves apart and to set a standard of

high quality, we will provide the members of the Market with tents and tables as well as helping

hands for the set up process. To promote the North Hills Farmers’ Market to the 221,000 residents

that live within five (5) miles of the project we intend to utilize various platforms including direct mail

and print (N&O, Midtown Magazine) advertising. The market will also be promoted on-line. Finally,

we will integrate promotional messaging onsite to make the 8.5 million annual visitors to North Hills

aware of the North Hills Farmers’ Market. We also plan to schedule fun and interesting

entertainment, such as bands, artists, and strolling entertainers to coincide with the Market.
